Fifth Avenue Stroll – Part Dos

Has it been a week already? Let’s see if I can make it up to you. Last time I gave you just a little taste of 5th Avenue from Calle 4 north to Calle 8. Today, we’ll pick up at Calle 8 and head north to Constituyentes Avenue.

La Parilla is offering 44 different kebab and fajita dishes during their Brochettes (kebabs) & Fajitas Festival May 10-25.

There are so many little hotels in Playa del Carmen. The Hotel Copa Cabana looks so cute from the outside. Between Calle 10 & 12.

Kin Mayab is a great place to get an authentic Guayabera shirt or embroidered dress. Located across from the Tequila Barrel. There is a another location on Calle Corazon between 5th & 10th Avenue.

One of my fave shops in Playa. Caravan carries shell & beaded jewelry from $7-12, pretty scarves and unique purses among other things. Everything’s made in Indonesia, NOT in Mexico though. On 5th & Calle Corazon.

Unique souvenir shop with no apparent name.

Plenty of crocs available in Playa del Carmen. Between Calle 16 & Constituyentes.

This little nook used to house an ATM machine. Now it’s a car rental kiosk! Real estate is valuable on 5th Avenue!

That’s all for today. More of 5th Avenue to come soon.

I was disappointed by the articles of VEARI. In July 2008 in Playa del Carmen I have bought the crocodile bag of 600USD price and the lining of the bag is made of a bad quality fabric – it leaves millions of trashes inside in the bag. I recommend not to buy such things or I recommend to producer to put the clothe of a better quality in such bag made of expensive reptiles.

hi – i’m wondering if you can help me – i was just in playa del carmen shopping on 5th ave a week ago and i fell in love with a necklace at a department store there and i can’t for the life of me remember the name of the store. it had mostly parfume and makeup on the main floor, jewlery on the 2nd floor and liquor on the 3rd and I believe had a black and white sign out front. since you’ve noticed some of the stores on the strip do you happen to remember the name of this particular store? Its a long shot but I thought i’d ask. thanks!

I was in Playa del carmen last year and a friend of mine found a painting she fell in love with but cant find the card from the shop and I have no idea what the name of the place is. It was an art store that had a zebra painting in a frame, the frame was some kind of silver coler. The store is on 5th ave.

Can someone help me??? I was in Playa Del Carmen in late March early April. I found this cool little art/furniture gallery on 5th and 30th (there is a Haagen Daaz right next door). The man who is the dealer is super cool and is also an artist. He sold these animal skin sling back chairs. Could someone please give me the name of his gallery??? His website/phone # would be a big bonus!
    THANKS

Hillary, The store you are thinking of may be casaarco galeria. It’s a few doors down from the Haagen Daaz. You can find more information on the store here.

Terrina, Can you tell me a bit more about the area of 5th Avenue this store was at? Nearby stores or restaurants would be helpful. The tourist part of 5th Avenue spans about 20 blocks, so that doesn’t narrrow it down much.
